An Optometrist (AOA approved definition)

A Doctor of Optometry is specifically educated, trained and state licensed to examine the eyes and related structures to determine the presence of vision problems, eye diseases or other abnormalities.

The doctor prescribes lenses, contact lenses, or other optical aids and utilizes vision training to preserve, restore and enhance vision efficiency.

Dr. Cristina Polizzi

Dr. Cristina Polizzi-Woods graduated from Siena College with a Bachlor of Science in Biology in 2007. She attended and graduated from University of Houston College of Optometry in 2014. While attending optometry school, she participated in research projects pertaining to dry eye syndrome and even presented a poster at the American Academy of Optometry meeting. Since she graduated in 2014, she has been working alongside her father and hopes to take over the practice when he retires. Dr. Polizzi fits soft and hard contact lenses, is medically trained and can treat over a variety of diseases. In her free time, she volunteers at the Golden Paw Society in Huntington Station taking care of kitties and loves yoga.

 

Dr. Elena Rosen

Eye Doctor in HuntingtonDr. Elena Rosen is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton and holds her doctorate from State University of New York, College of Optometry. She specializes in hard to fit contact lenses, comprehensive eye care, and treating eye disorders. She enjoys the mix between fashion and medicine that this industry provides, and welcomes new patients. Besides all things optical, her other passion is travel, and she loves to trek around the globe with her family.
